I’ve been reading YA and fantasy since long before either category was considered serious. I started keeping notes on books as a way of remembering what I’d read — eventually those notes turned into reviews, and the reviews became this site.

The Diary of a Bookworm started as a Blogger blog in 2010, when the YA literary community was small and deeply connected. Back then, writing an honest review of a book could get you a reply from the author. The community has grown since then, but the impulse that started this site hasn’t changed: the belief that books deserve more than a rating.

What I cover: Young adult fiction, fantasy (YA and adult), literary fiction, occasional crime. I read widely and review what sticks with me.

What I don’t do: Sponsored reviews or paid placements. Every review on this site represents a genuine reading experience.

If a book made me think, made me angry, made me stay up past midnight, or made me feel like a different person on the other side of it — that’s what this site is about.
